It is the rise of a minority that has never been accepted in France and always remained a society within the society and of lower rank.
40 percent of them are unemployed, or thereabouts, the other 60% are no doubt employed, within French society. There are muslims in France working as doctors, lawyers, who are in parliament, etc. They have made their way up in French society. Were they not accepted?
This sort of caste system has now erupted into violent riots. Therefore, I don't believe there is much of a connection between Islamism/Terrorism and these riots.
Assuming your first assertion is correct, but it overlooks the fact that they are muslims and that muslim thought, values and ideals reign in those housing projects. That thoughout the world, wherever the muslim mentality comes up against the infidel this kind of tension inevitably arises. That the legacy of Islam is violence, genocide and destruction. That Islam teaches the superiority of the believer over the unbeliever. That it divides the world into two houses, Dar al Harb (house of war) and Dar al Islam (house of peace), an "Us and Them" world view, with the Us, the Ummah, demanding allegiance over every other authority. Islam is all, and will be all. You overlook that Islam is not a religion of peace.
