John Galt's motor, made in Japan?

Japanese inventor Kohei Minato has invented a motor that uses only 20% of the power used by conventional electric motors and uses magnets to make up the difference. It might not be Galt's motor, but it's damned close.(Read more...)

Technical difficulties

In case you haven't noticed, SoloHQ had some technical difficulties over the last day or two.  I believe the problem is fixed (disk quota problem), but in the process some data got corrupted.  There were a few posts in the moderator queue that were corrupted, as well as posts that went through to the forum okay.  If yo...(Read more...)

Britain's education secretary backs ID card bill

Castro crank callers paying in pennies

Two radio show hosts in South Florida managed to con their way through the layers of phone bureaucracy in Cuba and get Castro on the phone on air. New Intellectual Movement

This is an Objectivist adaptation of Eric Heubeck's conservative article proposing a "New Traditionalist Movement".  Heubeck consented to the adaptation on condition that his original article be linked from the Objectivist article, and this article satisfies that condition.(Read more...)
